Mumtrepreneur Awards: Brand Identity and Website
Art Direction | Illustration | Design | UI Design
Being fresh to New Zealand the Fly Buys Mumtrepreneur Awards competiton required an aspirational brand – one that had a sense of energy, professionalism, savvy and soul.
The Mumtrepreneur awards are an opportunity for working mums to show what they're made of. Gaining nationwide exposure and acclaim for their success in their careers while balancing family life, the women who the Awards speak to are creative, talented, driven and possess loads of grit.
It was crucial to create an identity that was sophisticated, savvy and strong, just like the mums. A brand that told a story and felt relatable and compelling.
A unique logo marque was crafted to make a memorable impression. Clean lines and meaningful detail help communicate the various categories within the Awards (agriculture, arts, food & bev, technology etc) while also being beautiful and easy to apply across all media.
Like a modern-day cameo, our Mumtrepreneur is chic and confident.
A full on-location photoshoot was art directed and staged capturing our mums in work and family mode. This bespoke image library would provide a wealth of imagery for use primarily on the custom website and promotional/advertising material. In addition a set of icons denoting each award category and the prizes were created to complete the visual language.
The mobile web experience was a critical part of the project strategy, and required a fully responsive approach to the digital home of the Mumtrepreneur Awards. The site was designed to make the most of the amazing photographs of our mums which lead to a warm and exciting look to introduce the brand for the first time. Key dates and information were arranged clearly and the icon set brought to life the nitty gritty details.
In the first month there were over 13,000 unique visitors to the Mumtrepreneur Awards site and entries into the competition exceeded forecasts.
