This artwork is the fifth instalment in a limited edition print series celebrating the Chinese (lunar) New Year. The year 2018 is placed under the protection of the just and honest sign of the Earth Dog.

‘The Underdog’, is never one to be underestimated or overlooked. She cuts-to-the-chase, is capable, creative and determined. She gets up earlier, works harder and faster, questions the rules set before her and isn’t afraid to challenge them despite all ‘norms’ and expectations. She extends herself, seeks knowledge and is an agent for action and change.
A constructive and efficient thinker, the Earth Dog is objective, a devoted fighter, honest and just, and, above all else, loyal. She will never abandon her friends, family or work. She spreads the sound of justice, yet due to her high level of morality and idealism, the Dog has a tendency to go beyond her limits and can demand excessive loyalty and obedience from others. While she may proceed with difficulty, she goes forth with well-defined purpose and is unstoppable once she has set her mind to something.
